SAFELOK TO EASYLOK TRANSITION INFO
With the transition from SafeLOK to EasyLOK we are going from a black insert to blue insert. The major difference between is the ability to now unscrew the fitting for reuse. There are instructions below if you have a Safelok (Black insert) or Easylok(Blue Insert) fitting. Installion process is different depending on what fitting you have.

SafeLok Installation (If you have a BLACK insert)
STEP 1
Cut Pipe Square Clean the pipe end and ensure it is free from burrs. Chamfering or lubrication of pipe is not required.
STEP 2
The fitting is pre-assembled and ready to use, however always ensure that 3 threads are showing before proceeding. Check that fitting body is lubricated - use water or CRC lubricant if required.
STEP 3
In the ready to use position lay the pipe against the fitting with the end of the pipe lined up with the flange of the body. Witness mark the section of pipe that is alongside the nut opening.
STEP 4
Insert the pipe up to the witness mark, or if not using a witness mark until the first point of resistance is felt.
STEP 5
The nut should be tightened by hand and then firmly with a wrench. Tighten the nut all the way to the flange on the body of the fitting.
STEP 6
The fitting is now fully installed.
Easylok Installation (If you have a BLUE insert)
STEP 1
Cut the pipe square. There is no need to chamfer or lubricate the pipe.
STEP 2
Take the fitting apart, remove the nut.
STEP 3
Remove the split ring and collet, ensuring you keep them together. Remove the O-ring.
STEP 4
Slide the components onto the pipe,first the nut, then the split ring and collet followed by the O-ring.
STEP 5
Insert the pipe into the fitting body ensuring pipe butts against tapered wedges.
STEP 6
Tighten the nut by hand.
STEP 7
While holding the body tighten the nut all the way to the flange using multi-grips.
STEP 8
The fitting is now fully installed
